I picked up the Herald Sun this morning and was delighted to find the program for The Melbourne Comedy Festival inside. More exciting still was seeing that two of my favourite Australian comedians (John & Rusty; The Scared Weird Little Guys) are performing a range of shows on a surburban Melbourne mini-tour.

If you love their work (and if you don’t know their work, trust me; you’ll love it!), be sure to check out where they’re headed and book yourself a ticket. It’s well worth it to see them live.

Can I Get The Number For Judge Judy’s Agent, Please?

What about that wacko judge from the Anna Nicole Smith ‘remains’ hearing? What a glory-seeking moron!

Personally, regardless of the person whose ashes / body is at the centre of the issue, I believe that such a self-promoting performance should result in him being severely reprimanded for his behaviour - he certainly shouldn’t be rewarded by getting his own TV show!

What an utter disgrace! He has no business keeping his job if that’s the way he’s gonna carry on with such a serious issue (for the family, if for no one else). Have some respect, you goon.

Fine Dining Scottish Cuisine

There’s this new Scottish Cuisine restaurant that’s just opened up near where I live that I’ve been dying to try out. It’s a large restaurant which I believe caters to families as well as singles, couples and groups. Maybe you’d like to give it a try with me?

I’ll be ordering a Big Mac meal.

Cleaning Out The Pipes

My wife and I have to get a plumber to come over in the morning - costly though it will be. The sewage pipe leading from the houses behind us out to the street is blocked (probably from a tree root), and the contents (you can guess what) is overflowing through the little drain in our backyard, leaving almost our entire lawn covered in muck.

On one hand this is good news for the lawn (free fertilizer at a time when we aren’t allowed to water the lawn anyway), but of course on many other levels it’s just disgusting.

With any luck, we won’t end up having to pay for the plumber, anyway. It’ll either be the council or the houses behind us, hopefully.

Either way, it just needs to be fixed. Does anybody know a good, cheap, reliable plumber who could help me out with this?

Treading The Boards

I love live theatre and my wife and I often attend shows performed by both amateur and professional theatre companies. We particularly like anything with humour, but are also into serious plays and most other forms of the performance arts. We enjoy watching, we enjoy participating. Hopefully soon we’ll get involved in something in our area. Now we just have to locate something that’s being done locally and enlist / audition!

I WON AN IPOD!

I’m so delighted to have won an iPod - I never win anything! (I know that sounds like a cliche, but it’s true.)

I initially signed-up to Nook because of the iPod competition after reading about it in the paper. I wanted to see if I could win one of the iPods for my wife, who has wanted one for ages but we can’t afford one.

Now, thanks to Nook, I am one of the lucky winners and will be able to treat my wife to a lovely surprise very shortly! I won’t tell her about the win until I have the iPod in hand to give to her.

Thank you, Nook - you’ve truly made my week!

And the best part is, since signing up and having a mosey on through the writings of other Nook ‘residents’, I’ve found myself quite enjoying the whole Nook experience! So the iPod may have lured me here, but I’ll be sticking around anyway.
